Justin G. Hovey, MD, FAAP, serves as Medical Director of the ACOM Ashford Clinic and Associate Professor of Internal Medicine & Pediatrics. Dr. Hovey received his Bachelor of Science in biological science and microbiology from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. He earned research honors with his medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in Mobile. Dr. Hovey completed his residency and internship in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of South Alabama Hospital Systems in Mobile. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and has been practicing in the Wiregrass for more than 10 years. Dr. Hovey, a Slocomb native, has also been a clinical faculty preceptor for ACOM for more than five years where he has also served as a guest lecturer. His current research interests include COPD and allergic component to exacerbations, changes in lung microflora in response to allergic exacerbations and pollen concentrations contributing.
